Mae Café in York

"Hard to decide where to start with how many good things I can say about this place! Would definitely and highly recommend it. Lovely atmosphere and sitting area, the service is top notch, friendly, respectful and lovely. The food is so good and the drink I had was so on point. Love it, they were very accommodating to my toddler and so welcoming. As a mum who recently didn’t find many comfortable places to be with my toddler and still have good time, this made me feel so warm and happy."

"Immaculate vibes and delicious coffees. Owners are simply lovely people and made modifications to our order as needed. Would be a great brunch/lunch spot! Street parking can be a bit tricky but we went on a weekday morning and had no issue. Definitely returning for that peach toast!!"

"Mae is a nice new café in york with with breakfast and lunch offerings. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the cafe is nicely decorated. I had an oat flat white which was tasty, a good temperature, and served quickly. I then had a Pancetta and Gorgonzola hash which was a novel breakfast option for me, but very nice, I would get it again. There is a very good range of food and drink options here - my companions had mushroom on toast and a sundried tomato & balsamic buratta on toast, both of which were well received."

"Mae is about to be your new favourite coffee shop in York. I had the blueberry and lemon curd pancakes and an oat latte and both were fantastic. The service is also wonderful and friendly x"

"We visited one of York’s newest Cafes at the weekend which isn’t far from York Station. It’s a gorgeous, welcoming spot for brunch & lunch and we already can’t wait to come back, their menu is so extensive and everything sounded & looked so good! We ordered: Burrata toast with prosciutto, peach and honey MAE breakfast - full English Halloumi with honey Humous, guac & chips We were both very hungry after a long walk so this feast was very much needed and we were very happy with our choices! Amber went for the toast with burrata, prosciutto, peach & honey which was light and moreish. The sweetness from the peach & honey went perfect with the creamy burrata. We definitely want to come back and try more of the toasts! The MAE breakfast was equally as good, the highlights were the sausages & the hash. You can’t go wrong! For sides, we went for the halloumi with honey, this was a very decent portion for the price and went perfectly with both of our choices. We also tried one of their new slides, the chips with humous & guac which we could have kept nibbling at these all day! Overall, we had a great visit to @mae_cafe . It was a vey chilled and relaxed vibe and we have our eyes on a lot more of the menu… the sweet and savoury pancakes sound amazing & the ciabatta sandwiches! We can’t wait to come back"

"Absolutely love this place. The coffee is great, the atmosphere was cozy and perfect for a rainy day, and the staff are very sweet. The food was really nice and has great portions, unfortunately not a lot of vegan options, but the staff were very lovely and on it when we asked about changes due to allergies. Highly recommend a visit."

"A beautiful cafe not far from the centre of York. The menu is extensive, there is so much to try that would suit everyone (allergens are all catered for too). We tried the pancakes which were 10/10, perfect. The service and staff are so friendly. The cafe itself is stunning. A really special spot in York"
